Application Catalog
60 structural diagnostic applications across five domains and five license clusters
Catalog Architecture
Understanding the structure and organization of SORT applications
Purpose
The SORT Application Catalog defines structural diagnostic perspectives—not implementations, tools, or software modules, but conceptual anchors for targeted structural analysis. Each application represents a distinct viewpoint within the SORT framework, enabling systematic examination of specific system phenomena through the operator-projection formalism.
Applications serve as entry points for engagement: they identify what structural question is being asked and what diagnostic capability SORT provides for that question. The catalog is the authoritative registry of recognized structural perspectives across all SORT domains.
Three Orthogonal Axes
Applications are organized along three independent dimensions that jointly determine their scope, licensing, and explanatory depth:
| Axis | Function | License-Relevant |
|---|---|---|
| Domain (vertical) | Market, buyer, and regulatory context | Yes |
| Cluster A–E (horizontal) | License levels and patent bundles | Yes |
| V1–V4 (internal) | Structural dimension ordering | No |
Domain and Cluster are externally visible and determine licensing structure. The V1–V4 dimensions are internal ordering mechanisms for explanation and documentation.
Domain Mapping
Five domains organize applications by market context and regulatory scope:
| Label | Domain ID | Type | Cluster Scope |
|---|---|---|---|
| SOV | sovereign | Meta-Domain | A, C, E only |
| AI | ai-systems | Technical | A, B, C, D, E |
| CX | complex-systems | Technical | A, B, C, D, E |
| QS | quantum-systems | Technical | A, B, C, D, E |
| COSMO | cosmology | Non-IP | — |
COSMO applications remain IP-free as fundamental science. SOV is a meta-domain aggregating sovereign-relevant applications from technical domains.
Cluster Structure
Five clusters organize applications by structural focus and system level:
| Cluster | Structural Focus | System Level |
|---|---|---|
| A | Physical and logical coupling | Coupling |
| B | Temporal adaptation and learning | Learning |
| C | Operative control and coherence | Control |
| D | Emergent, non-linear behavior | Emergence |
| E | Traceability, auditability, justification | Evidence |
Licensed is never the individual application, but always the cluster. Cluster membership determines patent scope and licensing terms.
Structural Dimensions (V1–V4)
Four structural dimensions provide internal ordering for explanation and documentation:
- V1 — Observed Structural Phenomenon: What was observed? The empirical or architectural phenomenon requiring analysis.
- V2 — Structural Cause/Coupling: Why does this occur? The coupling mechanism or structural driver behind the phenomenon.
- V3 — Structural Effect Space: How does SORT work here? The core diagnostic contribution and analytical capability.
- V4 — Decision and Utilization Space: What decisions become possible? The practical implications and decision-support enabled.
Core-3 Entry Points
Three flagship applications form the primary entry points for SORT-AI engagement, each representing a distinct cluster:
Core-3 spans three cluster licenses (A + C + D), providing coverage across coupling, control, and emergence dimensions while excluding training (B) and evidence (E) clusters.
